I'm gonna let a lot of you in on some news -- Canada has political elections! I'm as stunned as you are. I figured that Obama and McCain were the only people that mattered these days. But I guess I have to vote as well. And I remember the days when I didn't have to think about who to vote for, cause that Jean Chrétien guy had been in power for so long that why would I vote for anyone else.
But now I have to choose between five different people -- that's a lot of choice. At least in the states they only have to pick between two, they can flip a coin to make a decision -- for me to do that I would have to track down some kid that plays D&D and get his dice.
Really who has the time to listen to all these people talk about all the pertinent issues that face the world today. I know some of you are old so really what does it matter if the world is dying, because you are too (and soon!). But I have a lot of time left on this earth, so I need to care about things -- I just wish it wasn't so hard.
So who's best for the environment -- Well I'm going to assume Green.
Who's going to lower gas prices -- Maybe NDP
Who's going to lower taxes -- Liberals might
Who's going to make sure gays can't marry -- Conservatives
Who thinks French is a real language - Bloq
They all have totally different viewpoints, and I am a dynamic human -- so how do I choose which party I want to vote for? Maybe I like the environment, but also love French -- it is the language of the love. Or maybe I like gay people, but also want gas to cost less. Is there any party that I can vote for? I don't know.
But even with my indecision on who to vote for, the election will still happen on the fourteenth. Even is SNL doesn't spoof any of our
politicians, and no
celebrities are telling me to vote -- I still have to decided which way I'm going to vote, and maybe you should as well.
