Two profound questions have been keeping me awake at night lately: 1) why has Seth Rogan lost all that weight?, and 2) why is Seth Rogan successful? Both questions have been answered by this video of him performing stand-up at the age of 13 in Vancouver. Answer 1: that's actually his natural weight, and 2) actually, he's a pretty funny writer.

We're working on a multimedia essay for backofthebook.ca about the Silva Bay Boat School on Gabriola Island, the last wooden boat building school in Canada. In the photo section below you'll find a sneak preview of some of the pics we're working with, taken by Aidan Moher, not yet photoshopped, pretty much not yet organized. Wow. Exciting. We had our first spammer. "Chicken Wrestler" left responses for a few of you, peddling ringtones and, oh, I forget what. ChickenWrestler has now been banned, which also had the happy effect of removing his spam. Rest assured that any future cases will be dealt with in the same way.
